APRIL FOOLS! IT'S EASTER

Is it symbolic of the times that Easter
falls on April Fool's Day?

The annual celebration of hoaxes is the same day
that Christians worldwide
celebrate Jesus’s resurrection.

But Christians have a long history
of being called fools.

From the Pharisees to
sophisticated modern thinkers,
 the thought of there being
an actual resurrection is mocked.

From Cadbury to Store windows,
Easter Bunnies are all the rage.

Jesus is tastefully left out of sight.

More people believe in the paranormal
than they do in a personal God.

Many feel it is foolishness to believe in God.

I can understand that --

On the surface it seems foolish
to meet hate with love

to think life can spring from death.

But isn't that what happens
when crushed wheat
is buried in the earth?

The true spirit of Christ's teachings
is bruised but not gone.

Still, Easter holds a message for us all,
religious or not.

It is a message of
hope and reconciliation.

Even when met with
mocking and hostility,
Love offers us
Life after Death,

More than that:
a possibility of forgiveness
and
a fresh start.

HAPPY EASTER
MY FRIENDS

After my home burned,
this song kept me going:

  1. Happy Easter to you, Roland! People are easy to offend in these times, so I suspect store owners try to appeal more to the kids.

    1. Sadly PC folks plead for tolerance but seem loathe to give it themselves. :-(

  2. Well said. Although the joke is on those who don't believe.
    Happy Easter, my friend.

  3. Wow, a very powerful message you always have Roland. I had never heard this song before today; and had no clue this was the soundtrack to the devastation of that horrendous heartbreaking fire. I still grieve that incident deeply. :-(

I regretted leaving LCS upon hearing of the loss of your home; and the imho lack of help you received. We had a big home with an extra big room, which Kim and I would of gladly taken you in, kept you fed with a roof over your head; and transportation for your every need. It still hurts deeply that I could not and was not there for you, when you needed a friend the most. Divine Intervention crossed our paths, and led me afar as well. I can't question that much, yet such doesn't help heal the grief sometimes. That moment still aches in my own heart, and I cannot imagine the pain/grief you live by, or that which others live by daily.

Guess that's why we're servants in this world, to help others thru their grief.
I've long believed and still do: "The only way to alleviate our suffering is to help others alleviate theirs. ;-)

    1. You were always a blessing to me, Robert. And your emails to me during that time helped more than words can say.
