America has limited attention spans these days!

I have 3 volumes of a Poem A Day which helps me in daily reading.

Like you, I have not committed any entire poem to memory -- just snatches of evocative ones.

Thanks for visiting and staying to have such an indepth chat! :-)Roland D. They don't want to analyze, as poems often force you to do.

2. I follow four blogs that feature poetry. Two of them haven't posted in ages. One of the authors still posting probably doesn't consider himself a "real" poet. He writes rhyming verse, true, but his attitude is purposely frivolous. The fourth blog features very well thought out poems. So my answer would have to be "within the past week."

3. Wow, it's really been a while since I committed a poem to memory! The Silver Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00730805376957629641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8681132888977525688.post-45585985973740671892017-03-21T23:54:38.134-05:002017-03-21T23:54:38.134-05:00Great songs ARE poetry. And quotes from T.S. Eliot serve as other clues.

I wonder if hip-hop and the obsession with popular music (even more extreme now than when I was younger) has substituted lyrics for poetry. At least Bob Dylan was cited by the Nobel committee for his song/poems. And for me, Bruce Springsteen's songs (like The Rising) can sometimes rise to the level of great poetry.Helenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14967821142796562697noreply@blogger.com
