STORMS_INNER & OUTER

ALEX CAVANAUGH has done it again ...

CASSASTORM ...

A storm gathers across the galaxy…

As a galaxy-wide war encroaches upon the desert planet, Byron’s ideal life is threatened
and he’s caught between the Tgrens and the Cassans.

After enemy ships attack the desert planet,
Byron discovers another battle within his own family.
The declaration of war between all ten races triggers nightmares in his son,
 shaking Bassan to the core
and threatening to destroy the boy’s mind.

Meanwhile the ancient alien ship is transmitting a code that
might signal the end of all life in the galaxy.
And the mysterious probe that almost destroyed Tgren twenty years ago could be on its way back.
As his world begins to crumble, Byron suspects a connection.
The storm is about to break, and Byron is caught in the middle…

How TWILIGHT should have been written

Enter this world at your own risk.

Amazon Exclusive Interview with Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, Authors of Beautiful Creatures

What does your writing process look like? Is it tough to write a book together? Did you ever have any knock-down drag-out fights over a plot point or character trait?

Margie: The best way to describe our writing process is like a running stitch.
We don't write separate chapters, or characters.
We pass the draft back and forth constantly, and we actually write over each other's work,
until we get to the point where we truly don't know who has written what.

Kami: By the end of the book, we don't even know. The classic example is when I said, "Marg, I really hate that line. It has to go."
And she said, "Cut it. You wrote it."

Margie: I think we were friends for so long before we were writing partners
that there was an unusual amount of trust from the start.

Kami: It's about respect. And it helps that we can't remember when who wrote the bad line.
THE AUDIOBOOK IS ONE OF A KIND:
There is music playing for the 16 moons song with a haunting voice.
There are the sounds of storms, gun shots, screams.
It is told through the eyes of Ethan,
the male protagonist, for once.
It is a book you live.
If you want non-stop action, fast cars, and hot girls.
This is not for you.
If you want a world in which to become lost
and which will haunt you even when you put it down,
READ BEAUTIFUL CREATURES.

  4. Like the cover for Alex's book, and by September, I might be ready to read a new scifi novel. Now I want to know the connection. . .
And I'm wondering if Byron's son has special powers?

Never read Twilight. It's not my brand of entertainment.

  10. Alex:
Not remembering probably saved the friendship! Glad to showcase your new book's cover! :-)

    Trisha:
I am truly enjoying listening to the audiobook of BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. Now, I'm afraid to see the movie lest it not do the novel justice.

Isn't the cover art of Alex's new book something?

    Jeremy:
I won Lena's Prom dress! If it had come with the actress portraying Lena in it that would have been a prize! LOL/

Alex is the man, all right.

    D.G.:
I couldn't get past the first paragraphs of TWILIGHT'S free sample chapter. BEAUTIFUL CREATURES is a supernatural TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD -- think TWILIGHT written by William Faulkner.

I hope you can read Alex's new book! I plan to.

    Heather:
I could swear I knew Kami from my first days blogging, but my mind is fatigued from 12 days straight of working and 7 more to go! Ouch.

    Misha:
This is quite an honor. Thanks!

    Michael:
I don't know if you will like the film since I have not seen it, but I can guarantee you that you will like the audiobook.

    Kityt:
Yes, Hooray for Capt. Alex! I smiled when I read the entire interview. Have a lovely weekend, Roland
