Hi Roland - I did go and see it .. took it for what is was and enjoyed it ... I was a little 'agitated' that it related to WW1 - but then saw it was a comic written in the 1920s/30s ... so understandable to the story line ... cheers Hilary
Patty Jenkins wanted WWI since the suffragette movement was especially strong then and contrasted well with Wonder Woman's all woman island of enlightenment. Also WWII had already been used for the origin of Capt. America. Thanks so much for visiting and staying to chat for a bit. :-)
A friend from the UK sent me the Wonder Woman stand-up along with a mini-one as well. A friend from Mexico sent me the Dr. Pepper poster along with a marvelous WW popcorn tin.
Wasn't WW fun? If you watch the bonus features at the end of the blue ray, you will see what a truly monumental and intricate task making the movie was. :-)
I haven't seen the movie yet, as I haven't really warmed up to too many of the DC film adaptations, The Dark Knight being an exception. But I'm aware that it's gotten some good reviews and has done well at the box office, so I'll probably see it eventually.

ReplyDeleteI am with you on all the other DCEU movies. But WW is a breath of fresh air, reminding us that a good super-hero can be made of the DC characters. :-)
