I got fired from my job on my birthday today. Talk about a nasty Trick for Halloween!
All of us drivers have a camera aimed at us. I do not recall running that stop sign.
23 and a half years without one ticket or accident ... then this.
With a camera aimed right at me, it was bound to happen to me sooner or later.
I was hoping for later.
All my coworkers were crying ... even my supervisor.
I am 75, no savings thanks to hurricanes/medical bills, and expensive rent.
Who will hire me at this age?
As lame as hearing "Everything happens for a reason,"
it is better hearing it out loud.
Because when you hear it your head, it sounds an awful like "Anything can happen with a razor."
If you can donate anything to my PayPal account, it would be deeply appreciated.
That is just wrong! Fired for running one stop sign, with no warning?
ReplyDeleteI eased through one stop sign over a year ago in rural Louisiana with no traffic in sight for miles. They have the video of the empty fields that stretched on and on. I feel they were looking for a reason because of my age.
DeleteA total bummer! The company was probably just looking for stupid excuse simply because of their politics (e.g. they want to hire a relative or friend over someone who is more qualified and so they do it through some loop hole). I've seen it happen on a more personal level too many times. It sounds like the co. flat out lied!
ReplyDeleteI'm praying that you'll get another job soon.
Me, too, Steven. But at 75, I am going to have a hard time. Thanks for caring, Alex and Steven.
DeleteOh, Roland! I’m speechless, and so very sorry.
ReplyDeleteI've faced cancer, heart attack, hurricanes, homelessness but without the support of my friends at work, this is scarier. After nearly a quarter of a century, I am alone. Thanks for caring. Say a prayer, will you?
DeleteThat is so wrong! Such a minor offense.
