DO YOU BELIEVE? IWSG post

I am not asking about your belief or lack thereof in God.

Each person's theory of God is their own

and worthy of respect and freedom from prying questions.

No, I mean

"Do you believe you are meant to be a writer?"

Yes?

Then what are you doing about it?

Dreaming of climbing to the mountain top is fine.

But no mountain is going to reach down and lift you up to its top.

You have to force your way up the side of it, braving the cold, winds, and the weariness all on your own.

Not everyone makes their idea happen.

You've met those whose heart, head, and hands are congruent, aligned.

They turn talk into walk.

If we want to badly enough, we find a way.

We live the possibilities we love.

We don't have to remember we are on fire.

We just are on fire!

When you are committed to your dream,

people will sense it in you ...

Some of those will help you on your way...

for none of us makes it solely on our own.

There will be challenges.

But challenges are merely problems ...

and problems can be solved.

Every road block has a detour that can be taken.

It may not be the journey you envisioned,

but the destination can still be reached.

Impossible just gives birth to legends

WHAT ARE YOU DOING
TO MAKE YOUR DREAM
COME TRUE?

TOMORROW MAY BE THE START
OF YOU BECOMING LEGEND.

  1. Excellent topic your write of Roland. When I was working I used to say, I do not have an open door or a closed door policy, I have a revolving door policy. That is, if you come to me saying you have or we have a problem, then that person was going back out the door with a second problem. Of course I spent most of my life teaching people there are no such things as problems, only challenges which are opportunities to Excel and resolve. Of course it was necessary to teach others the fundamentals of solving problems, and creating the idea of solutions. Perhaps this is what the late dr. Adler meant when he said: " trust only movement, life happens at the level of events, not of words." When words are put into action, or simply put into context by writing them down and following through with the thought process. In this respect you are a master!

  2. Yes, exactly. :-) Alfred Adler's "Life happens only at the level of events not words" is a motto of mine -- and Hemingway's, too, I believe. How are you feeling? Stronger I pray. How is Kim?

    1. I have gallbladder surgery this Friday. I've been running back and forth for 2 weeks to and from medical facilities. I've had blood drawn 5 times in the last 2 weeks, ultrasounds, MRIs and CT scans, with more to come after post-op. Otherwise I'm doing fine and just a bit nervous while I wait for these tests results, what you're looking for more cancer. It's a bit depressing of time but my spirits are up, cuz I'm trying to tell myself I'm not losing any body parts I'm getting health. Kim's doing okay she's worn out, but if you ask her she'll say she's a nervous wreck. Kenneth has the flu which I am hoping I do not get between now and Friday. Otherwise everything's hunky-dory. And you Roland how are you doing? You're in my prayers daily brother! I look forward to your blogs and look for them every morning with my coffee! It's a blessing to see and read them, from the very talented writer you have always been... It's an honor to know you my friend.

    2. I had that flu so I will pray it stays away from you. A Bonzai tree gets more beautiful the more it is trimmed -- so you are merely becoming more beautiful! May cancer not be found!! I am praying mightily for you daily.

    1. Thanks, Alex. I worked 24 of the weekend's 48. It took me my whole two days off to recover. I need to sell the movies! :-)

  4. Love your images. You put a lot of work into this! I think writers--we don't get a choice. Believe or don't believe, that's what we are. Sigh.

    1. Hemingway felt that way. Man, I was so exhausted that I forgot yesterday was the first Wednesday IWSG post day!! Thank you, Jacqui, for liking my images. I did work to make this post worth the effort of reading! :-)

    1. You made my evening with this comment, and I've just been stung by a wasp -- so that is saying something! :-)

  6. Very encouraging! I agree, action works better than just wishing.

    1. It is the action that gives life to the dream, right? :-)

Sorry I haven't been visiting lately and have disappeared online. Hope all is well with you.

    1. I hope your week improves greatly, Damyanti. I've missed you. What with my increased work load, flu, and weariness -- it is getting harder for me to write and appear online, too. :-)

  8. Great advice, esp. if we want something bad enough we'll find a way.
