After reading President Trump's latest cyber-chirp as he calls them,
the ghost of Mark Twain couldn't resist entering the fray!
"Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason."
"The political and commercial morals of the United States are not merely food
for laughter, they are an entire banquet."
"Yes, you are right --
I am a moralist
in disguise;
it gets me into heaps of trouble when I go thrashing around
in political questions."
Letter to Helene Picard
"When you are in politics, you are in a wasp's nest with a short shirt-tail."
"Do not worry, children, I shall not often meddle with politics,
because you have Roland who is already excellent
and only needs to serve
a term or two in the penitentiary to be perfect."
I love this blog Roland. If only Samuel Clemens were still alive he would get my vote. In my humble opinion the last candidate for the office of POTUS was Robert Francis Kennedy.
ReplyDeleteI would have answered sooner but my blog was under attack. I think I have it licked. Say a prayer!
DeleteI can't imagine being in politics these days. The amount of smearing, behind the scenes handshakes and even secret (and not so secret) murders... (Looking at you Clinton administration) I just don't have the stomach for it.
ReplyDeleteWho would want to be president these days? No one is happy with you -- not even your own party!
DeleteAnd researching my Not So Innocents fantasies has soured me on most presidents! Ouch!!
I second everything Crystal said.
ReplyDeleteAnd I triple it! :-)
