Admit it ... your traffic is down. Why?
Why read paragraphs? We answers now. Short ones.
YouTube can spoon feed us information.
We are the microwave thinkers today.
It gives the illusion of immediacy and intimacy without the irritation of actually being there for someone.
So Why Continue?
Cyber Journal --
Your blog is your cyber-journal. It helps create order when your world feels like chaos.
You get to know yourself when you write down your fears and doubts.
It helps you de-stress and calm down.
It puts you in touch with like minds.
What is the difference between a journal and diary you ask?
You can go back through the years and see patterns to avoid or recognize as benefits to encourage in the future.
You see who you were and ask it you like what you see.
Heck, I can't even remember what I wanted to buy unless I write down a list before I go shopping.
The Japanese concept of continuous improvement.
Embrace the change you see around you, becoming a lifelong learner.
Engage with your visitors, visit their social media.
Have fun with your blog. It will show.
I don't even know what I had for dinner last night.
ReplyDeleteI still blog for connections, like those with the IWSG. (I did take most of April off though.)
I noticed your April absence. You are posting much less though from years ago. But then, so am I -- hurricanes, covid, tornadoes!
DeleteBlogging is what you make of it. For me, it's not a journal, but it's (like Alex) about connecting with other writers and readers.
ReplyDeleteI would like to connect to writers as well -- which expands my world. :-)
DeleteHappy IWSG Day, Roland! I enjoyed this post, and your paragraph on a cyber-journal summed up the important reasons for why I enjoy blogging. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI like to browse through past posts to see where my head was at. :-)
DeleteGood question a lot of bloggers are asking (though not me). And great answers!
ReplyDeleteIf you do not know why you are doing something, it is a sure sign you should find out, right? :-)
DeleteI'm not sure why I don't enjoy blogging much these days. I should spend some quality time trying to answer that. Happy IWSG Day, Roland. Hope all is well at your end of the world.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and staying to comment, Joylene. Has Amazon prevented you from reviewing my book, since you live in Canada? Amazon has done to several of my Canadian friends, :-(
DeleteI believe we are different even after a moment's passing. I noticed it in my son first. We learn, mature and grow every day. It's a blessing to be sure. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnna from elements of emaginette
Exactly. :-) Heraclitus says somewhere that all things give way and nothing remains, and likening existing things to the flow of a river, he says that you cannot step twice into the same river.
DeleteRoland, my blog hasn't heeded much attention lately and I am somewhat ashamed of it. A to Z was supposed to rekindle the fire but I sputtered because life busyness. My hope is that I can at least continue to support those that have expressed interest in my writing and at times, add to my own but time, as they say, is in short supply.
ReplyDeleteAs a rare blood courier, I know what you mean about spare time. Finishing A to Z nearly finished me so do not feel so bad. :-)
