BUT THE TIGERS COME AT NIGHT

What are your tigers?

They come for us all at night when the light of the day is swallowed by the dying of our dreams.

How do you keep them at bay?

Many are scoffing at Anne Hathaway being able to pull off her role in Les Miserables.

Many scoff at you in your dreams to be an author.  Who do you think you are?

I, for one, am a bruised dreamer wishing Anne success in her daring attempt to be all that she knows in her heart she can be.

So again I ask you:

What are your tigers?

How do you keep them at bay?

Or have you not yet found a way?

  1. What are my tigers?

Those that exist outside of my being are ones I can turn a cheek to, tune them out. It is the tiger within that scoffs at me, dons her best beast style and claws at my dreams. I am still training to deal with that tiger.

That is the same tiger I deal with, too. But in my case, there are many tigers with competing growls. LOL.

  3. Like Angela, there are tiger outside I can ignore and one inside that I do my best to ignore.
Fortunately, all of the tigers will one day vanish.

  4. My tigers hunt in packs like wolves. Snarling teeth mock my every step. I'm still searching for the right weapon to use against them.

  5. The title of this post is familiar...

I'm just trying to keep my expectations for the film low, just in case.

  6. Joshua:
The title of my post comes from the song "I dreamed a dream" from Les Miserables. Films, by their very nature, have to be different than stage plays. I will just aim to be entertained, and I feel I will be.

    Wendy:
Like you, I have packs of tigers baying at my heels. We do what we can, right?

    Alex:
I wish I could ignore the external tigers, but sometimes they are the worst, insisting on making a meal of me! One day, yes. But not today. Good to see you here.

  7. Oh, I know. I used the same line as my post title this morning.

  8. I think everyone has their own tigers, but some deal with them better than others.

I actually liked Ann Hathaway in this movie.

  9. You are a wonderful storyteller and I am excited to see Anne Hathaway in Les Miserables! She can sing and Hugh Jackman is in the movie too!

P.S. I haven't gotten round to publishing my review for End of Days yet because real life keeps on interrupting my fictional one LOL. Just thought I'd let you know in case you're wondering. But I loved it, as usual :)

  10. I embrace the tigers, because what is life without a fantastic challenge?

  11. When the tigers sleep I can move forward. But they scare me when they wake and it's in those moments that I struggle.

  12. I think Anne will do a great job. I like her better than Ruthie and she was part of the dream cast.

My Tigers are learning how to make Paleo bread. I can't get it right. :P

I put up a link to your catalyst post!

    Megan:
One of the best lines in a very bad STAR TREK film had Kirk refuse to let a rogue Vulcan take away his painful memories and shouted, "I need my pain! It makes me who I am."

Like you, I like what I see of Anne Hathaway in this movie.

    Braine:
I'm glad you liked END OF DAYS. I look forward to your review of it. So is Alice.

I understand how life can be a harsh, demanding mistress!! LOL.

    Heather:
I don't know about embracing them! But I try to ride them!!

    Elise:
Sad fact is that the tigers never sleep long enough. I like to think that it is in the struggle with them that we become better than what we were. Great comment.

    Alleged Author:
The only thing my tigers make is a mess! I, like you, believe that Anne will do a wonderful job. Thanks for visiting and chatting! Roland
