And with the New Year coming, I will let Neil Gaiman give my benediction for it:
“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness.
I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art --
write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can.
And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”

Imagine a cross between Sam McCord and Han Solo and you get this Star Wars clip:
Love this Neil Gaimon thought:

One of my characters is similar to Neil G., and I always smile when I see something about Neil in your posts, Roland. He captured me as a reader when I read 'Neverwhere' in Paris. . .sort of like your character Sam McCord appeals to me more than Victor who is so young and streetwise.
Hope you have a great weekend!
D.G.:
ReplyDeleteI love to hear him read his audiobooks as well. NEVERWHERE is fascinating. I discovered him in the SANDMAN comics which he wrote.
Yes, we need good madness and friendly magic!
I've taken to writing more about Sam McCord lately. Victor and Alice are jealous! :-)
Make some art -- that's the stuff. We're all in this together, leaving the world a little better than when we found it. Happy New Year, Roland, and thanks for helping to make #Tismoreblessed 2013 a big success.
