I was concerned about David Walston of Blah, Blah, Blah Yackity Smack
But his two month long absence from blogdom was explained by his post
that his house was hit by lightning and his electronic devices were all
fried.
My very first follower besides personal friends was VR Barkowski
{Her Halloween Selfie}
But she came back and my blog world was back as it should be.
Terry Stonecrop disappeared four years ago.
Her personal blog address has been given to someone else.
Now, only the blog of her detective hero remains.

She and I used to exchange comments and friendly banter. But she has disappeared.
The world is so violent. I worry.

As for which bloggers I would miss?
Simple.
ALL OF YOU
You are my cyber-family.
Simple.
ALL OF YOU
You are my cyber-family.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES!!!
I have lost a few of the bloggers I follow to death. My world is diminished - but it is also the richer for having known them.

ReplyDeleteWe have been so fortunate to know special people, haven't we? :-)
Hi Roland .. bloggers come and go, as do friends in life for reasons that life takes a hold ... I love VR's selfie .. great make up!
ReplyDeleteWe just miss various people .. and would miss others ... and as you say each and everyone we connect with ..
Cheers Hilary
Wow that's so sad to hear about the blogger who went missing. I hope all is well...
ReplyDeleteI'd emailed David and he said between work and the lightning strike, he was hard pressed to blog. Hope he comes back soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in our blogfest.
I really don't like it when bloggers are MIA and you have no idea why. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteI know VR! I'm not sure about the other two.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad when the bloggy address goes elsewhere. Depressing...many of my old blog friends' sites are still up. Kind of like a blog-monument.
ReplyDeleteIt points out how real these blogging relationships are when you feel like you should start calling hospitals when they don't post for a while.
ReplyDeleteI love this: "As for which bloggers I would miss? Simple. ALL OF YOU. You are my cyber-family."
ReplyDeleteBecause of your unique voice and ability to have some of the most interesting ghosts stop by for conversation, you would sorely be missed.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself :-)
Hilary:
ReplyDeleteWhen kindred spirits meet in blogville, we feel a connection which creates a void when they leave -- as you say, life is the same. Always happy to see you here!
Keith:
Yes, it is sad and worrisome. Great that you visited. :-)
Alex:
I emailed him, too, but alas, no answer until his post a few days ago.
You would be create a maelstrom of emptiness among your many friends should you leave.
Dani:
I'm glad I am not the only one to feel like that! Thanks for visiting!
Matthew:
Isn't VR fun and witty and intelligent? Why not visit David. His old posts are wonderful, and he will be back.
Jay:
Yes, if we are fortunate, our blogs will live on beyond us, and make new friends.
Susan:
We reach out and touch living souls with our blogs, and when something happens to them, real blood and flesh is affected. It is nice to know that you and I are kindred spirits. :-)
Margo:
That's nice of you to say. Keep visiting and commenting please.
Angela:
That is wonderful for you to write. Congratulations on your new book, BEACON!

Everyone, give it a try!
I would miss many of my friends and that includes you Roland, your stories and commentary is top notch... I refer to many of your references to people I know. We have lost so many great faces in the last few years, I know we all shine in our own ways... sadly some of us do find the end and sadly do stop... it's great we all have those thoughts and people to share.
ReplyDeleteI've known bloggers who have disappeared too. And like you say, I worry too. Tis a violent world.
ReplyDeleteI hate it most when they just disappear.
ReplyDeleteAnd that picture is kind of scary.
Jeremy:
ReplyDeleteI would miss you lots, too. :-)
It's nice to think that our blogs will remain behind us like echoes reaching out to old and new friends.
Friends email that they have favorite old posts that they re-visit when times are bleak. That makes my day.
You are a good friend, Jeremy. Thanks.
Wendy:
Yes, disease, accident, or crime makes life so precarious, doesn't it? Thank you for being my friend!
Andrew:
You're right: when they just disappear disturbs me most.
VR was playing Halloween -- she lives in Salem, Massachusetts after all! :-)
I value my blog friends--some more than the people I know face to face.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thanks so much Roland. What an honor. You know I feel the same way about you. After logging on at the end of my recent blog breather, my first thought was, what's Roland up to? Writing in the Crosshairs was my first stop.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture choice. Glad you captioned it. :)
VR Barkowski
This is a good list. That sounds like an interesting book. Sad that there are so many people to miss. But good that people care enough to remember to miss them!
