Something for Alex Cavanaugh and other movie lovers :
Joss Whedon: 'The Avengers' Will Be Told From The Eyes Of Captain America

While the superhero-packed film "The Avengers" has every comic book lover's heart aflutter, a concern lingers on just how the coming blockbuster will rangle a story with so many characters and backstories.

"The Avengers" has the awesome and difficult task of combining Marvel's VIPs --

Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow --

into a single story line.

Tough, but movie vet (and clandestine Shakespearean daredevil) Joss Whedon has found a way around this too-many-cooks-spoil-the-pot thing.

“I set out with a very simple problem," Whedon said in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly.

"There is no reason for these people to be in the same movie. So that’s what my movie has to be about.

So much of the movie takes place from Steve Rogers’ (Chris Evans) perspective, since he’s the guy who just woke up and sees this weird ass world. Everyone else has been living in it.”

Clever, very clever! The film also boasts some of Hollywood's biggest names: Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, and Samuel L. Jackson.

"The Avengers" opens in 3D on May 4th. Alex and I can hardly wait.

  3. Congratulations to Ann!
The Avengers is going to be awesome. I really enjoyed Captain America and feel that his point of view will be the most interesting.
Joss Whedon can do no wrong...

  5. Denise :
I have been telling her that. She just smiles like Alice, "You toucha these entries. I breaka you fingers."

But your time will come. There are only 11 reviewers in the pool so far -- and there are a lot of neat prizes yet to be won.

Only ten more copies of LEGEND have to be bought, and Sandra will pull for the CHRISTIAN BALE AUTOGRAPHED POSTER OF BATMAN BEGINS.

Hopefully some of those reviewers will buy LEGEND as a gift for friends (after all, 100% of the royalties go to The Salvation Army - it's a double win for them.)

I will keep my (unbroken) fingers crossed. Hey, we're buddies but I have to type! LOL. Roland

    Elliot :
Yes, Ann is a sweetheart. But Sandra chose with her eyes closed. Like I live a great part of my life! :-)

    Alex :
I did the Snoopy dance for Ann when she won. (Not a pretty sight according to Sandra.)

And THE AVENGERS I feel will do fine as Wheldon being the director. In the original comic, AVENGERS #4 : Captain America became the perspective of the comic, making it sell even more. Josh was wise to follow that tradition!

    Heather :
You were Victor's first reviewer. Didn't you win an Alexander Skarsgard autograph? My days traveling thousands of mile delievering rare blood fogs my memory these days.

I'm a little apprehensive like you about THE AVENGERS movie. With such years long build-up, it could fail to live up with all the fuss. But I trust Josh Whedon (whose AUTOGRAPH is on the SERENITY movie poster that is one of the prizes -- should LEGEND ever reach 700 on the Amazon Sales ranking -- but hey, it has the AUTOGRAPHS OF ALL THE STARS OF THE MOVIE (except Gina Torres - you can't have everything -- where would you put it?) LOL. Roland

  6. I can't wait for The Avengers! It and The Hobbit are my most anticipated of this year. I'm so excited Whedon is doing The Avengers. It better be great (and since he's doing it, my expectations are high that it will be).
