Are you sick of the Publishing Machine that churns out sequels, remakes, and the same boring plot over and over?
Are you sick of the "heroic destiny" yet?
Well, VICTOR STANDISH has no heroic destiny to pry from the hands of a heartless Fate.
Destiny?
He's too busy digging his next meal from a French Quarter alley dumpster
and his first love from the graveyard to have time to worry about destiny.
His adventures may start in modern New Orleans,
but they soon streak to the last day of Troy, to the French Quarter of 1834, and finally to the Off-Reality Betting Parlor at the End of All Things where literally anything goes ... and comes.
Along the way, Victor will meet the Angel of Death, Mesmer, the cats who owns a French Quarter Restaurant, vengeful demigods, warring Sidhe, living Egyptian mummies,
ride into battle with Valkyries, and even survive the
Guardians might bring that freshness back to the cinema.
ReplyDeleteLove how Victor digs his girl out of the dumpster. Great line!
ReplyDeleteHope you're well.
Hugs and chocolate!
I still have to read Under a Voodoo Moon. And finish a couple of others. I'll gradually get back to reading perhaps in August.
ReplyDeleteI'm spending about 6 hours a day at the hospital, since it's only 20 mins away. The nurses are getting to know me, that I'm helpful and that I watch hubs like a hawk, so they'd better treat him well. He is making some improvements, but this is only the beginning. I am learning patience for a good cause.
Alex:
ReplyDeleteGUARDIANS has that STAR WARS innocence and wonder that has been missing from Sci Fi cinema.
Shelly:
His food comes from the dumpster/her girl comes the graveyard! Which might even be worse!
But for a guy with no home and no money what can you expect? :-)
Thanks for dropping in and talking!
D.G.:
You have much more important things to do than read my silly books right now!
I spent most of a year working and then staying hours at the hospital with my mother. It can drain you. I am glad to hear he is making some improvements.
The nurses are overworked with many patients. Keep an eye on your husband! This is a long term journey -- pace yourself!
