IN THE ROARING TWENTIES, ANCIENT EVIL AWAKENS

HER BONES ARE IN THE BADLANDS

It is the era of The Great Gatsby.
America has spanned the continent, survived the War to end all wars, and bursts with false fire in the stock market.
Criminals are the new heroes.  Science is the new god.
And one lonely, undying man seeks to evoke an innocence that never was by making the first talking Western movie.
With his wizard, Nikola Tesla, Samuel McCord awakens an ancient evil.
Now, he must find a way to save those who have unknowingly become the prey to Something whose hunger never ends.
HER BONES ARE IN THE BADLANDS is now FREE for a LIMITED TIME.
For a real treat, listen to the great talent, Robert Rossman, narrate it:

And if you like McCord with Nikola Tesla ...

Join him in 1895 Egypt with Nikola once more along with Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, and Winston Churchill ...

as they discover some secrets should remain buried.

  1. Goodness you are generous.
I don't think evil (ancient or not) ever sleeps. Sometimes it looks away, and sometimes it get distracted, but it is always awake - and always ready.

  3. I recommend them both, have read and reviewed them on my blog and on Amazon. Except for the paranormal element, it reminded me of Fitzgerald's The Last Tycoon, another story about the movie scene from a different point in time.

A generous soul you are, and readers should take this opportunity to see how well you weave your stories.

Evil hides away in the darkness, listening for the whisper of its names. I think we too often call to it. In this novel, Tesla uses the term "sleep" for a being out of phase with our dimension. :-)

    Alex:
Me, too. I hope to interest readers in the adventures of Sam McCord.

    D.G.:
Thanks for the kind words about BADLANDS and my other novels.

I am at the 70,000 word mark for THE STARS BLEED AT MIDNIGHT. The final fourth of the book looms ahead.

Whew! Betrayal. Blood in the sands. Ancient evil arising from the mouth of a wizened child. And laughter ... with Mark Twain along how could there not be! :-)

  5. I guess I'll have to break down and get the audio for Badlands.
I have to admit the last audiobook I had was on cassette, when I was in college. Frank Peretti "This Present Darkness".

Thanks! I believe you will enjoy Robert Rossman's narration. All the characters spring to life with his artistry. He is currently working on DEATH IN THE HOUSE OF LIFE for me.

You can listen to BADLANDS through your smart phone, iPad, or your computer. You'll make Robert's day by downloading it. :-)

  7. I enjoyed this one too Roland. And I enjoyed Fitzgerald's The Last Tycoon, not as much as the Great Gatsby. How I love being a teacher--am about to begin teaching GG yet again to my seniors!

  8. Denise:
The Last Tycoon was unfinished, and in its finished state may have surpassed GG. Teachers learn so much from their students as they teach, don't they?
