C. Lee McKenzie at the O.K. Corral

On this day in 1881 the Earp brothers faced off against

the Clanton-McLaury gang in the legendary O.K. Corral.

Now, Today Marshal AMAZON is gunning for

C. Lee McKenzie and her gang of those who love her new book and want to review it.

Marshall AMAZON has laid down the law ...
a whole slew of new laws actually.

WHAT NEW LAWS YOU ASK

DO NOT use the phrase “Free copy in EXCHANGE for an honest review”

DO NOT use the phrase “I was given a free copy of this book by the Author”

DO NOT use the phrase “I love this Author or this is one of my favorite Authors.”

DO NOT use the Author’s name in the review.

Do so
 and

AMAZON WILL DELETE
YOUR REVIEWS
 according to their new Rules.

Rally to Lee's side.

Buy a copy of her new book

AND

 REVIEW it
by these strange new rules.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THEM?

  1. Hi Roland and Lee - congratulations to Lee for her new book. Those laws are a little unsettling ... but we'll see ... take care and good luck to you both - Hilary

    1. They do, don't they? Thanks, Hilary. :-)

    2. Monopolies can make any rules they like. I've added a comment below with another possible Amazon surprise. Thanks Hilary for your visit!

  2. That is so extreme. Amazon has gone off the deep end.

    1. Monopolies can get extreme. Just look at Disney. Sigh.

    2. Yes, more rules to winnow out the minnows it seems. :-(

  3. Thanks for this post. I did use her name in the review. And, What the heck?! Why would that be a banned thing on A.?

    1. Those are the new rules Lee emailed me, and I thought the same thing. :-(

    2. I've checked some of my reviews and so far they're still up. I'm hoping these rules are retroactive.

  4. I think not using the author's name is the craziest rule of all. Thanks for the update and take care, Roland.

    1. And I don't believe it is universally administered. I can't see a review for Stephen King being taken down for mentioning his name! :-)

  5. I think I broke all those rules, then. I'll check. Amazon thinks a little too highly of themselves.

    1. No, your review (thank you much by the way!) is still up. I have only yours so losing it would hurt! Luckily, I have stopped hoping others will review my book.

    2. Isn't this crazy? We need reviews and now if we get them, we pray they'll stay up.

  6. First, thanks so much for the post about Not Guilty. I so appreciate your being in my corner during this launch.

To add to what you've posted...I think Amazon has added one other rule that really irks me. People who've read NG are contacting me with this, "I can't leave review on Amazon because they tell me I haven't spent the required amount with them." What?

    1. $500 is the amount last I heard. Sigh. Shakes his head. I got that from a lot of my friends who wanted to leave reviews on my last books. Wow,right?
