L'AUSSIE, HERE I COME!_HIBBS, THE CUB WITH NO CLUE

Hibbs, the cub with no clue, here.

My feet are worn to nubs! Do you guys know how far it was to Australia?!

Lucky I took the path through Dreamtime. But those little Indians that met me had no sense of humor at all!

They kept throwing those strange crooked sticks at me. I kept ducking. Those sticks went right back to their hands. They kept on throwing. I kept on ducking them.

Finally, I said fun was fun, but I had to get to L'Aussie's place.

"Denise?!," went their head guy.

I said, "That's the one."

"Well, why didn't you say so? Now, we have to make you a member of the tribe!"

Warlpiri it was.

They gave me some strange looking worms. I usually don't eat food that's still moving. But I didn't want to insult them.

They pointed me in the right direction. And here I am.

Now, don't make me go through all that, and you not show up!

Here's the way :

If you want to know how Hibbs the cub sounds :

AND REMEMBER TO SAY A PRAYER FOR ALL THOSE HURTING AND MOURNING IN JAPAN.

  1. OH, he's completely adorable!!!!!!

It's been a busy morning. I flew to Australia and back before 8 AM! Wow.

The interview was fantastic, btw. And yes, your writing is lush. A great description!

    Have a restful weekend :)

  2. Thanks, WordsCrafter. Poor Hibbs had to walk there! But he did it through the mystical DreamTime where you can do that sort of thing! Wasn't that cub adorable? Thanks for the kind words and for the two lovely days, Roland

  3. I'm sure I watched that movie when it first came out. On a Disney show or something. Very cute, worth seeing again.

I got your return e-mail Roland, and will work on the final post tomorrow. I'm having a rare Saturday off - now work, no writers group obligations, avoiding the family - and so I'm having a play day.

The roast is in the crock pot, I've got diet pepsi and chips, and as long as the internet connection doesn't keep dropping I'll be surfing the blogs and catching up.

I hope your day isn't too busy or fraught with too much danger . .

    Be careful.

  4. Hi Roland. I'm glad Hibbs stopped eating those witchety grubs and was able to avoid the nulla nullas and limped to my place out of danger's way. Was great seeing you guys, even though you were more than a bit dishevelled after your trip through Dreamtime.

Now you have to keep Hibbs out of trouble overnight, waiting for the second interview tomorrow.

Make the most of your stay. I've organised a corroborree tonight so you can check out the indigenous culture a little more - is that a didgeridoo I hear - whaamp, whaampp..come on Hibbs.

  5. Donna : Thanks for the insightful questions. Today had only one terrible wreck to swerve and avoid. Better than the 3 of yesterday! Have a great evening, Roland

L'Aussie : Watch out for Hibbs. That cub will try to open your fridge for midnight snacks. He loves fridges, cool and no stinging bees to keep him from the honey. Thanks for having us, Denise. You are a great hostess!
