Their light shot out into the void
countless thousands of years ago ...
Only ghosts sparkle down upon you,
flung from stars, now burned-out cinders ...
But there is one who is Timeless ...
Meilori Shinseen, once called Sekhmet.
But she is not alone.
She has a twin sister, Maija,
who lusts for her throne.
Panourgia, the human inhabited by a grey alien,
wishes to leave this planet
through means only to be found
in Meilori's long-buried House of Life.
Then, there is Bastet, driven by motives
both alien and hidden.
And beneath the sands
waits Something unnatural
for them all.
I can see it is going to have to queue jump in my unread pile.
ReplyDeleteIs there ever anything nice waiting in the sand?
ReplyDeleteBastet was the goddess who had a feline's head; in some instances, she is also shown with a lioness head (older versions)
Elephant's Child:
ReplyDeleteThrills, love, and laughter not a bad combo to jump ahead to read! Thanks!~
D.G.:
In CREOLE KNIGHTS, Bast shows up referring to the adventure in this novel. Also you see Oscar Wilde in his salon at Meilori's built for him by Meilori for his compassion to one of her subjects.
And no, there is nothing nice ever under the sand! :-)
