S Is For You Can Only Use The Same Tea Bag Just So Many Times

The original will always stir my imagination

Next Generation took until Season 3 to fully entertain me.

I tired of the Palestinian allusions to DS9. I hear it got better toward the end.

It was too late. I had stopped watching.

And BABYLON 5 handled the lone space station scenario much, much better.

Voyager was a bit too PC for me: a woman captain, a Native American second in command,

a Latino/Klingon female engineer, and the only white male was the black sheep of the bunch!

But like with Next Gen, by the 3rd Season, I started enjoying it.

Though BATTLESTAR GALACTICA handled the consequences of a lone ship

having to deal with battle-damage from one episode to the next.

By the time of ENTERPRISE,

Rick Berman was copying storylines from the other series so much that some episodes were diluted like an over-used tea bag!

Like with DS9, I heard it got better towards the end, but again, it was too late.  I had stopped watching.

HOW DID YOU LIKE THE VARIOUS TV STAR TREK SERIES?

  1. I enjoy the themes and respect the music from the different composers who brought life to each inception of the shows released. I liked most except DSN, until they got off the base and explored more.

  2. I enjoyed some of them. I really like the new Star Trek movies where the crew is supposedly younger.

SO true. Diluted tea bag shows (and tea) is not cool.

  3. My father loved the original and we watched them whenever possible. I liked The Next Generation a lot. I can't say that I've watched any of the rest.

Like the comment above, I'm enjoying the JJ Abram's Star Trek reboot in the movies:)

  4. I agree Next Gen didn't hit its stride until season three.
DS9 will always be my favorite.
And I have since rewatched all of the Voyager episodes on NetFlix. It was better than I remembered.

  5. I like the Star Trek movies, but couldn't stay interested in all the tv variations. . .I fail at most tv watching other than documentaries, movies, history and science.

  6. Havimg computer problems, folks. Ome of my keys popped off -- 3 guesses as to which ome it was! :-)

    Jeremy:
DS9 at first just seemed a rehash of the Palestimiam problem. Like Alex says, Voyager grows om you!

    Teresa:
The Memtalist was the same for me. After Red Johm was captured, the sizzle wemt out for me. I emjoy the first mew ST movie but the 2md just seemed to steal from WRATH OF KHAM too much.

    Alex:
The Mext Gem will be my favorite besides the origimal. Amd you are right: Voyager does grow om you!

    D.G.:
You really are mot a TV persom are you? :-) But like you, I like the ST movies simce they have the budget to do the special effects right amd go for a more im-depth script.
