U Stands For The Mascot of All Struggling Indie Writers

Underdog,

Shoeshine Boy's heroic alter ego,

appears whenever love interest Sweet Polly Purebred is being victimized

by such villains as Simon Bar Sinister or Riff Raff.

Underdog nearly always speaks in rhyme, as in "There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!"

His voice was supplied by Wally Cox.

Have you ever watched an episode?

  1. I remember Wally Cox AND his voice. I hate to admit, I've watched Underdog. I'm soooo old.

Not old just a collector's item! As long as we stay a bit of a child within, we are still young!

    Jeremy:
Sometimes silly & fun is what we need!

  4. Well no, but I watched the one above. Reminds me of Mighty Mouse . . . Everyone who feels like an underdog wishes they could turn into a superhero and take care of villains and bullies. That's the appeal of all superheroes. . .

  5. I never heard of it or watched it, but the very name "Underdog" for a series is clever.

All of us who were bulled longed to transform into Spiderman or some other hero to put the bullies into their place -- you're right there.

    Helena:
The live action movie was less than stellar though! :-)
