Are You Participating In This Year's A TO Z?
If so, why are you?
If not, why not?
Do You Think It Is Cheating To Write Those Posts This Month?
Are you doing that?
Do You Think It Is Mandatory to Have a Theme?
If you have one, why did you pick it?
Just Because This Tune Has Been Running Through My Mind:
No, I'm sitting out this year.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how anyone could participate without writing posts in advance.
Theme not necessary but it really helps - both the writer and those visiting, because then they know what to expect each time.
Ah, but that is just it: they know what to expect --
DeleteSurprise is the spice of life to me.
Those who know how I write know I will give it my all to be entertaining -- the mystery of what I will say may be novel -- I hope.
I am sorry you will not be participating but understand you are under quite a work load -- me, too -- and I almost didn't join in this year, too.
I've participated twice before (in 2014 and 2016), but not this year. It's complicated as to why, but I'll be posting about it before the end of March.
ReplyDeleteI always did my posts in advance. It was a fairly disciplined task I set out for myself.
I don't think one has to have a theme, but I did, both times. It just worked better as far as that elusive "discipline" I mentioned was concerned.
I believe the A TO Z Challenge may be winding down. Life is a harsh mistress.
DeleteI don't have time - I have a business to run.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best in sales for your books, Diane. :-)
DeleteNot well enough to commit this year but I'll be doing the rounds and cheering people on. Hope all is well with you Roland.
ReplyDeleteI am upset that you are not well. :-( You just concentrate on getting better or at least enduring! I'll be praying largely for you to improve!
DeleteI'm not participating this year either, Roland. Several reasons: time, energy and I don't like the new rules which include no list, and social media priority. I understand the reasons for the changes, but do not agree with them. I decided instead to spend my time on my own novels. When something becomes a chore, and not one I have to do, why do it? I will also be visiting others who participate, like yourself and Hilary, to name a few. Bowing out for 2017 gives me a break.
ReplyDeletePS - I always like a theme because I can then tailor the collection at the end. I also wrote most of the posts in the month prior as I always included a lot of research, something a lot of blogs don't do. I focused on content, not mood of the moment.
DeleteHi Roland - I am participating this year - using the posts I didn't get to use last year. I have to write in advance - at least to make coherent sense for the blog. A theme helps hugely - yes I could write randomly ... but it'd be so much guff - I'd rather post something relatively intelligent. As DG confirms ... content is what counts ...
ReplyDeleteI gather from Alex that the list was hugely challenging - which if he said it - it must have been ... though I'm not sure why: but being relatively computer illiterate that negative comment makes sense!
I can't say I'm thrilled at it becoming a social media thing ... but I'll do it this year and then see for next year - I'm going off it though ...
Cheers Hilary
Alex now says the list was not challenging. Ah, times change.
DeleteLike you and DG say, content is what counts!
I will try to visit your posts even with the ever-increasing demands of the blood center.
