I wonder why those books and the movies and others in the same mode
do so well.
Have we given up on love?
Has lust seared the perceptions of our culture so much that
love is no longer valued, desired or believed in?
To me, no matter the genre, if love is nowhere to be seen in a novel ...
it does not interest me.
Humor, love, adventure are necessary for me to enjoy any book.
How about you?
Promotion, easy to read and titillation is my view. It's in your face so much you get curious.
ReplyDeleteI read the free first chapter on Kindle. It wasn't great literature. Add to that the subject matter. I did not think it added to cultural dynamics anywhere in the world. But the author earned 95 million dollars and many copies sold.
Well, earning 95 million dollars for empty prose is a real achievement! :-)
DeleteIt's what makes the world go round. Some element of love needs to be present as it's one of the things most people can relate to - and need.
