Your Mind does not care
what your Brain thinks?
what your Brain thinks?
It is how we understand it, no?
And in understanding something, we bring something to it, no?
Doesn't that make life a story?”
―
The brain and mind are both involved in consciousness
and the terms are often used interchangeably but the brain and the mind are not the same.
To imagine the influence of the mind over the brain,
picture executives gathering in a boardroom to direct corporate strategy and determine company policy.
There is so much we do not know
about how we think.
I mean,
are thoughts made of matter?
In a sense thoughts are made of matter,
but in the same way a flame or a sound wave is made of matter.
The signal is propagated, but which matter does so constantly changes.
Electrons don't just flow along a nerve.
When a neuron fires, electrical current jumps from one to another via synapses.,
But to transmit the signal
the receiving neuron must fire and
transmit the signal to the next neuron in line ...
like one mysterious Conga Line of Thought.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF
THE MIRACLE OF THOUGHT?
The brain is an organ. The mind includes our soul.
ReplyDeleteWhen the brain dies with our body, do our souls go on without it? My faith, and yours, says 'yes.' :-)
DeleteThe brain is so awesome. when my son had his stroke five years ago, his words to us were gibberish. To his brain, they sounded like true conversation. with a little therapy, he soon would get back his words and right side functions. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteThere is are incredible back-up's the brain provides for itself. We truly are works of masterpiece, aren't we? So glad, Teresa, that your son has made such a recovery. :-)
DeleteI think Brain is an instrument and mind is the product of that instrument - thoughts etc
ReplyDeleteBut this post has me thinking with my brain...ha ha!!
:-) I love your analogy. I may use it in one of my novels.
DeleteAll human organs are amazing in their complexity and synchronicity in running the human body. There is a huge body of empiracl data that proves that how we "think" influences how the brain, and other organs, "work." Whether the miracle of thought is separated from the soul after death? That answer is waaaay above my pay grade! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd mine, too, Lee! :-)
DeleteThis is a rabbit hole that I feel ill-equipped to jump into right now...
