or having a childish, inappropriate playground tiff with Nicki Minjaj.
I'm not talking about Kanye West ending a 12 minute rant
by announcing he would run for President in 2020 ...
and would give free sneakers to each person if he were elected.
Wayne Dyer died the night of the awards and no one noticed due to the nipple and ego flashing.
Joining him on the" next great adventure" as Tony Robbins said of Mr. Dyer's dying was Wes Craven.
Mr. Craven, the famed maestro of horror known for the Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream franchises,
died Sunday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 76.
Wes Craven also guided Meryl Steep to an Oscar nom for 'Music of the Heart.'
Trump is gaining ground in his run for President, and the rest of the GOP seems to trying to adopt some of his policies.
I am worried about us.

ReplyDeleteI think Social Media and the lack of restraint some people have with virulent opinions are having a bad influence. Someone who is unstable can be kicked over the edge by the idleness of some thoughts put into print that most people would scoff at.
That certainly was the case with Nicki Minjaj at least.
DeleteValues are no longer thought to be absolute. Many compare their actions with those in the media and feel justified in being shabby and violent. Sad, isn't it?
It's scary to hear Trump speak, especially when he seems to be gaining a following. Other politicians have said they would build a wall between the US and its northern neighbour. Really? It seems there is less smart thinking these days, and much ego stroking.

DeleteI really believe we're seeing a manifestation of what battles are happening in the spiritual world materializing in the tangible one. Its quite scary actually.

DeleteI believe we can be more intensely influenced by our fellow humans than we realize -- some scientists are theorizing about fields of energy and even inherited memories or collective thoughts. The mob rule really does seem to be getting out of control.

The Hungarian authorities are bullying the people who have fled war or doomed places on this planet ... Syria, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Libya et al ...
We need some new very strong leaders with common sense ideas, innovative ones too ... we simply can't accept our leaders being so insensitive ...
We are in interesting times - and that's a polite way of putting it ... and in thrall to the media ...

ReplyDeleteThere are indeed changes in our culture, moving to a more secular and progressive agenda. The careless attitude toward the national debt tends to alarm me more than these cultural changes do, but I see your point. It is scary when celebrities influence politics and culture more than thoughtful orators do.
I really don't believe Trump will be the Republican candidate. I think he's making the other, more credible candidates up their game, which isn't a bad thing. I heard he and Dr. Ben Carson were tied in the recent Iowa poll which made me cheer!
