LAST MAN STANDING

I feel a bit like Gordon at Khartoum ...

though it happens to be hurricane winds and water surging towards me.

Or more like HOME ALONE!

Since I had nowhere to go,
my blood center graciously
allowed me to ride
out the storm here.

The flood walls are up,
and I am safely inside ...

unless the storm surge is higher
than they are!

Say a prayer for me and Midnight,
will you?

Once again we are
separated.

My excellent narrator,
Scott O'Dell,

deserves to be heard
and appreciated.

I am privileged
to have an award-winning
talent doing my book!

Would you consider
buying his and my
audio book?

If I survive,
I would like him
to feel appreciated enough
to do its sequel.

  2. I have said a prayer for you and Midnight. I think you need an RV instead of an apartment. That way, you and midnight can boogie on down the road when the winds and water blow in. Take care my friend.

    1. I agree, Ann. I just do not have the funds to afford an RV. :-( Thank you for the prayers, too. I am sure wherever Midnight is, he feels them. :-)

  3. Oh my... the more mention of 2020 will scar history books as it has too many lives. 2 Hurricanes courting Lake Charles as record fires have burned 4 Million acres in California alone, not to mention the entire west coast; while our Nation continues to reel from the Pandemic.

Godspeed, mercy, grace and blessings be with you and Midnight, always!
We're praying for you Roland and have not ceased.

May you find some time to breathe comfortably, if such is even possible on this anniversary of your birth.

    1. Watching the trees bend in front of the center's windows is a bit of a harrowing birthday surprise!

    1. The vet who had Midnight will not answer his phone. The trees outside the center are bent almost to the ground, and the lights have begun to flicker out. I may not be able to stay on the internet for much longer. Say a prayer.

  6. Dear Roland - I do hope you'll be safe and the vets too ... where Midnight is staying for now ... thinking of you both and wishing you all the best - Hilary
