MIRROR, MIRROR OF THE SIGHTLESS EYE

I am currently writing the sequel to my latest Steampunk, THE NOT-SO-INNOCENTS AT LARGE:

In it, an immensely powerful enemy threatens the lives and sanity of every human aboard the Xanadu,

smug in the certainty that Samuel McCord will not break his most inviolate rule.

McCord is forced to decide if his rules are more important than innocent lives.

A recent scene in the latest episode of PERSON OF INTEREST mirrors that scene I wrote before the program aired.

SPOILER ALERT!
SPOILER ALERT!
SPOILER ALERT!

Here is that scene:

HAS A MOVIE or TV SHOW
EVER ECHOED
SOMETHING YOU HAVE WRITTEN?

  1. Hi Roland .. co-incidences or synchronicity do occur don't they ... but your description (I can't see the video over here) reminds of Helen Mirren's recent film "Eye in the Sky" - really frighteningly realistic ...

We need to help others - but it seems we're going to be killing innocent people, to attain some peace - trouble is the viper with many heads will appear elsewhere ..

Life is not easy - all the best Hilary

    1. It seems that being flawed beings we cannot help without hurting others in some way. I hate that you couldn't see the video. Darn national borders! :-)

  2. Synchronicities are bound to appear, I look forward to reading yours, Godspeed

    1. Thanks, Shadow. The ghost of Jung keeps telling me that about synchronicites! :-)

  3. I think the writers of that show have been spying on you...

    1. Samaritan (the evil A.I. of POV) obviously has indeed been spying on me! :-)

  4. There have been discoveries that I've seen on tv science shows that I have already written about on speculation. Makes me know I should send out my scifi for submission again. Also I have seen a character right out of the story as well. A man who looked just like I described my main character walked into a Tim Hortons here when we were having a coffee - I tried not to stare but I almost wanted to go ask his name. . .just to see if it matched my character's name. Weird, but it makes you think someone else is on the same wavelength as you! I've started reading the Not So Innocents Abroad, Roland, and it is your usual stellar quality!

    1. I can't see the video either, that darn discrimination against the Commonwealth. . .as I see Hilary couldn't view it either. Sigh. . .

    2. Hate that you can't see the video either. Obviously an anti-Commonwealth Government conspiracy! Actually, more like greed and trade agreements. :-(

As Shadow and Jung said, synchronicity is all too real.

That you like my NOT-SO-INNOCENTS ABROAD made my weary afternoon much better. :-)

  5. Isn't it funny how that happens. Me too! One of which I remember is actually a song. Carrie Underwood's Jesus Take the Wheel matches a story I wrote, almost to the letter, probably before she was born. Except I do not mention Jesus taking the wheel. hee hee. I found it not long ago. So funny.

    1. Isn't it odd when that happens? I always worry that readers will think I lifted the idea - though scholars say all writers lift their ideas from Shakespeare! :-)
