WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU CROSS A LEPRECHAUN WITH A BEAR?

Just because I have missed the scamp, here comes a tale of Hibbs, the cub with no clue {who became THE BEAR WITH TWO SHADOWS.} :

Hibbs walked through the green tangle of trees and brush in search of something to fill his constantly hungry stomach. The cub was sad.

Spring was here. Winter was gone. So, too, was the Turquoise Woman -- off on one of her mysterious trips.

"Faith!," chirped a voice above him.

Hibbs looked up through the velvet cover of the leaves. He went stiff. A little man, dressed in the oddest green clothes Hibbs had ever seen.

"It's me gold yer after, isn't it?"

"I can’t eat gold. But have you seen any blueberries?"

The small man looked shocked, then outraged. "You don't mean to be saying you have no yearning for my gold?"

Hibbs had quite enough of this strange two-legged. "I am yearning to be alone."

Hibbs ambled off in search of berries and solitude. The leprechaun leapt from tree to tree harassing the poor cub with a constant shrill barrage of insults for his lack of discernment.

The cub walked like this for some minutes when a swirl of snowflakes danced all around him, finally becoming the tall, regal Turquoise Woman.

Lightning hair tumbled along both sides of a face both terrible and beautiful beyond any singing of it as she tweaked his wrinkling nose softly.

"Did you not see the leprechaun fall out of that tree twelve paces back?"

Hibbs' face brightened. "Oh, that's wonderful!"

The Turquoise Woman frowned, "Wonderful?"

"Yes. I thought I had gone deaf!"

  1. Oh, what do you get when you cross a sheep with a goat? A geep. No fooling. How odd is that, right?

Little Hibbs did a cub hop and jig when he read your comment. Thanks for liking my small, unappreciated cub with no clue. Roland

  4. :-) Really delightful - I needed a chuckle today. And, I'm sorry to say, I'm not overly fond of leprechauns.

Thanks for the award. It is deeply appreciated. You're a gem for awarding it to me.

    Li :
You must have seen that horror movie about them! LOL. Hibbs was none too fond of the one he ran across. But there was a delightfully sausy and sexy one in Thorne Smith's(he created TOPPER) THE NIGHT LIFE OF THE GODS about her, a reserved scientist, and statues of Greek Gods come to life in the Roaring Twenties.

Little Hibbs was a bit of a philosopher even as a cub -- though usually by accident! LOL.
