TUMBLED down 11 steps yesterday

The ghost of Mark Twain chided me

for trying to carry too much

up that 21 step staircase!

He said I was a writer not a mountaineer!

:Luckily, I broke no bones.
I'm just stiff and sore.

I will just have to carry less and watch my step!

At 71 I don't bounce as well anymore.

Wish me luck in my new apartment
and climbing those stairs.

I start back to work tomorrow ---

Here's hoping no one
takes my parking spot
when I come late at night!

This complex goes on forever it seems.

Midnight comes back
from the Vet Monday.

  3. You are 71? Your author photo doesn't show that.

Know your limits and carry less.

    1. My mother looked 20 years younger than her age until the day she died. I come from good genes.:-)

  4. Made me smile again. Trust me, it doesn't get any easier when you're 78! Glad you got kitty back from the vet.

    1. Midnight is happy ... more or less: the sounds of the construction still on going around our apartment unsettles him. Me, too. :-)

  5. Lord of Mercy shine a light on Roland! It grieves me to see and hear of all the tremendous pain and suffering your heart has had to endure!

Be extremely careful hauling things up those stairs. I herniated several neck discs in my neck, by carrying way too much weight up 15 flights of stairs, thus the referral to a Neurosurgeon. Sad thing is kids today don't want to earn a fast buck or 2 hauling groceries up those stairs.

    1. I was very lucky in that a new co-worker, a former customer of my old comic shop, and my ill supervisor helped me carry the bulk of my belongings up those stairs that first day -- though there was still a lot to carry up the next 2 days!

Also the Father's Hand eased my tumble down those stairs! :-)
