HOW TO MAKE TIME WHEN THERE IS NO TIME

“The moment of victory is much too short to live for that and nothing else.”
 - Martina Navratilova

Don't you wish you had a time machine?  I sure do.  You could have a 48 hour day every day.

Think how much you could get done!

Well, there is only one way to get more time -- you take it.

All of us under-utilize time.

Time we could use for our novels is waiting for us to seize it:

Waiting in line. Time you are in the car.  In the shower.

If we look hard, we can find the time that we are giving away.

We just have to look for it in the right frame of mind.

There are little slices of time we are letting go fallow.

Take back a few minutes every day, and you will be surprised how it builds up to quite a chunk of words written or ideas discovered.

If you had a time machine,
what would you do with it?

“You may delay, but time will not.”
- Benjamin Franklin

“Time is what we want most,
but what we use worst.”
- William Penn

  1. Hi Roland ... time is definitely something I could do with more .. but equally as you say I waste it as well. I shall put into practise what you suggest - take some back and give myself more day ...

Your quotes are very relevant ... cheers Hilary

  2. Great post, Roland. I've recently snatched some more time by strapping my dictaphone and headphones to my person whislt I'm doing the chores :) Works a treat - no ideas or great sentences missed because some other work had to be done. Hope all is well with you!

    1. Listening to audiobooks while doing chores is a great way to read more books than before, isn't it?

I pray life is going happily for you, too. :-)

  3. I'd go back and buy antiques and other collectibles, but only for my own use so I wouldn't kill the modern-day market.

    1. How about going forward in time and getting the Powerball numbers? :-)

    2. Then I could buy collectibles at their inflated prices!

  4. I spend a lot of time just staring off into space but I don't begrudge myself that because usually I am working something out even if I'm not conscious of it. I love King's 10 Rules for writing.

    1. Letting your mind putter about the mazes of creativity is never wasted time!

And wasn't King's 10 Rules vastly entertaining? I always look forward to your visits. :-)

  5. Ah time... I took a nap today during time that I should have been getting something done. I think the nap was time well spent, though.

    1. Can't think to write if your brain is too tired, right?
